I created these two easier patterns with beginning knitters in mind. The scarf is created with a simple seed stitch. The hat uses a knit and purl stitch combination that creates an interesting ribbed pattern. Both are beautiful when finished!
For these projects you will need: a set of single pointed needles in a 9 or 12 inch length, in US size 10 (6mm) and 10 ounces of 4 ply yarn for the scarf. For the hat you will need a 17 inch circular needle in US size 8 (5mm), 5 ounces of 4 ply yarn, and a stitch marker. The yarn used for the set shown here is "I Love This Yarn!" Super Soft in Ivory Sparkle - this particular yarn is sold at Hobby Lobby.
A PDF version of the pattern is available for instant download; a MS Word (.docx) version is available by email request: karen@GrammasKnittedGifts.com
